PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE & PACA COMMUNITY NEWS
  April 28, 2008

Maria van HekkenDear PACA Friends,

It's a beautiful spring morning as I write this from my home office, following an absolutely fabulous monthly meeting with Stuart Heller. We are so blessed with wonderful speakers and Stuart and the volunteers that he coached helped us learn a great deal about the power - and impact - of our nonverbal communication.

There are two other excellent speakers coming up very soon that you will not want to miss:

May 15 - The Professional Development Mega Mixer

(The PACA regular monthly meeting is in Center City in May!)

June 19 - Kirsten Cary: How to Create and Sell the Products to Leverage Your Coaching Business

July 15 - PACA's Second Collaboration event

Can't wait to see you at one of these upcoming events!

On another note, please join me in welcoming Amanda Lipnack, president of Aloft Coaching. Amanda is PACA's new Treasurer and brings both her experience as a Director in a Fortune 500 company and her warmth and commitment to the position. As a coach, Amanda specializes in working with newly minted managers and other career transition. She's also highly skilled in improving time management and project management performance. Amanda loves helping people achieve their own goals and dreams. Welcome to the PACA Board, Amanda!

All the best!
Maria

Spring New Members gatherings were once again successful as evaluated by those 14 new members and six board members who were able to join in at one of the four locations in and around the Philadelphia area. I continue to be "blown away" by the diversity of backgrounds, interests, niches, and extraordinary talents of those who comprise the Philadelphia Area Coaching Alliance community. There is no reason with access to these tremendous resources each of us cannot fulfill our unique dreams. Did someone mention a limiting belief?

The resounding input from attendees, surrounded by gratefulness for hosting, was the desire for smaller, perhaps either location or interest-based, gatherings of PACA members beyond the monthly events. It clearly does take a village to make things happen - we've taken the first step. You each have access to other members within PACA (yahoo; newsletter article; flier at meetings; announcement at meetings, e.g.). Reach out and connect - invite them to join you at the local Starbucks, diner, venue of choice and start the conversation. You have only to be enriched by it. In this our 10th anniversary year we continue to see the prime driver for belonging to PACA as the desire to be in community. I encourage each of you to deepen those connections. I suspect there are at least 5-10 special interest groups waiting to be launched!

I continue to encourage all members to be sure your profile is enacted on the PACA website and that you're signed up to both send and receive the yahoo messaging capability. If you'd like to maximize your membership investment - join us at 6 p.m. each monthly meeting for orientation; speak to a board member; get involved. We invite your energy, ideas, and uniqueness.

Warmly!
Sheree
